U PICK

U Pick Berries - The U-PICK WILL be CLOSED starting in 2025 - Unless I'm available, just ask.

Unless you picked before and would like to come pick your favorite berries, or if you are new but have a larger quantity or time frame to pick berries, we will not be serving the U-Pick part of this farm.  Due to lack of interest and needing to work other jobs to pay for the Farm's operations...we can't just schedule everyone.  The picking will need to be worked around our schedules, even more than before and carry some minimum purchase orders.  Thanks for your understanding and hope you can buy fresh frozen berries from us or get enough time or people around to make it a great day.  It never hurts to ask and state when or what your needs might be...just email, call, or message on Facebook.

We STILL have fresh frozen Elderberries from 2024 crop (Black Currants and Aronia are sold out) - if you are interested...email: rick@lancashirefarms.com or call 1-608-732-3400

Here are some of our berries we will be available for the "pick your own section"

  • Red Currants - JULY (limited still, 75-two-year old plants) - $5 per pound - about 30-50 pounds available in 2024.

  • Goji berries - ALL AUGUST and September - (limited amount every year, small berries), $10 a pound if U-Pick.

  • Black Currants - After JULY 10-July 25th (usually) - $5 a pound if U-Pick. All Fresh frozen are sold out.

  • Strawberries - JUNE 10-JUNE 28th  -(limited to about 1-2 pickers a day) - cost is $8 for 1 quart if you pick it and $15 per quart if I pick it.

  • Elderberry - SEPTEMBER, some July and August (should be a lot this year in 2025)  $5 a pound, you pick, (this price as been the same since 2019) they will still have stems on them when you weigh them, $15 a pound if I pick and de-stem and clean, frozen or fresh).  I do freeze the ones I pick directly after cleaning usually.

  • Aronia berries - AUGUST, usually after 15th, goes into September/Oct a while too - (should be a TON in 2025)  These will be $4 a pound for U-Pick.  Suggested: Pick a few 1 gallon buckets full, wash them, and freeze them to use all winter in your smoothies to increase immunity and health in flu/cold season.

I dare you to research a few of these berries, especially currants, Aronia, Goji, and Elderberry.  Several Universities and even old cultural stories tell of the chemical and medicinal healing/healthy properties of these berries.  If you are an American, you most likely enjoy the health benefits and taste of blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries, but if you could add some serious percentage of vitamin C and other healthy minerals to your smoothie, why not?

We aim to grow everything organically.  Although not officially certified organic we aim to use all organic fertilizer, mulch, and other weed preventers for better products.  Good old hand-weeding almost put me in the hospital in 2018.  There are no promises, because first come, first serve has to be our policy.  However, every plant ripens at a different time, so grab what you can, when you can, and have a few hours of family open air fun.
